Party Animals
I’m working on something new right now that I’m still trying to flesh out. Right now it’s just a quick scene of just dialogue between two characters with a questionable relationship. I know that I want it to take place in the political world and involve the lives of everyone from the political candidates, representatives, researchers, aids, and lobbyists. Think and American version of Party Animals with more sex and deceit.
Jon: What the hell was that Leona! What the hell was that!
Leona: What are you talking about? I thought that went rather well, a proper dog fight.
Jon: A proper dog fight? That was a massacre! You went in there and tore all my work apart.
Leona: I was doing my job and a fine good one at that.
Jon: You went for blood.
Leona: Of course I did and you should have been too! If you weren’t then you’re in the wrong game.
Jon: I can’t believe this is coming from you!
Leona: What’s coming from me?
Jon: This! This overly aggressive animal!
Leona: Animal?
Jon: Yeah animal. You come off all cute and innocent like some wounded animal right until the very last minute then go for the jugular! You made this personal Lee! You made this personal when you acted like there was anything between us other then a campaign race on opposing sides!
Leona: I did not make things personal in there.
Jon: That’s exactly what you did! You made this personal!
Leona: No! This politics!… Don’t make this personal Jon. This isn’t personal. You went in there just like everyone else. Head held high thinking you had the best plan, the ground breaking one, the one that would change everything. You had it all laid out, every single bit down to the dirt in Killingers shoe. But guess what? You weren’t the smartest person in the room after all. We all have a plan Jon, not just you and we all want to come out on top and will do whatever we have to to achieve it. So don’t make this out to be some personal attack on you. I have to do what I have to do to keep the lights on and that includes bring you down a few notches if need be!
Jon: Is that so?
Leona: Yes.
Jon: I should have known there are no friends in politics especially on opposing sides.
Leona: Only if you let it be that way.
Jon: I am.
Leona: If that’s the way you want it.
Jon: It is.
Leona: Fine then. You know I think it’s high time you grew a thicker skin Jon or you’ll never make it in this business.
